Free School Meals
Summer Free School Meal Vouchers
Parents/Guardians that are entitled to Free School Meals will receive one final voucher on Friday 17th July (usually around 8pm) for £90. This is to cover the summer holiday period. The pupils will then receive their usual Free School Meals in school when they return in September.
No further vouchers will be sent after Friday 17th July.
As usual, please direct any queries to email@example.com and we'll try and reply as soon as possible.
Free School Meal Update
We have now successfully implemented the free school meal online voucher system across all YHCLT schools and, whilst some teething issues have been experienced, vouchers now seem to be reaching all parents across the Trust.
We have increased the value of these vouchers from £11.50 to £16.10, this value will revert to £15.00 once the online software allows us to implement the national amount funded by the government.
As previously communicated please contact us by email if you are experiencing any issues with accessing these vouchers on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Changes to Free School Meals during the Coronavirus school closure
Free school meals are changing to a voucher system for all eligible families. The school will not be providing Free School Meals from Wednesday 25th March until further notice.
Eligible families will receive a text to the mobile phone number that the school holds for you. It is essential that this phone number is up to date.
In the text will be a link to a website. You will be asked to say at which supermarket you would like to redeem the voucher. Your phone will then receive the voucher.
The voucher will be worth £2.30 per day for each child (in a 5 day week that's £11.50 per child each week). You will receive a text each week which includes the voucher for the week ahead.
Free School Meals
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)

Universal Credit – if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
If you qualify for free school meals not only will your child receive free meals, but our school will receive additional funding too.
