Getting to grips with remote learning
It has been a hectic start to a new year and a new term and I would like to say thank you to all of you for supporting the school and the children in getting up and running so quickly with remote learning.
You will know by now that our "live" lessons are recorded in advance by the teachers. We designed our remote learning this way so that lessons could be done at a time that suits you and can be fitted in around the demands of having a number of children who may be sharing devices but who all have to access remote learning. I hope that this is working well for you and is maybe easing a little of the stress and pressure.
Another difference this time is that rather than focusing on practicing previously learned skills children are moving forward in their learning as they would in school and developing new knowledge and skills. It is really important that the children do as much of the reading, writing and maths work as possible. They need watch the live sessions (including the White Rose Maths lesson) before doing the activity as this is where the new learning will take place. If at any time you or the children need support with either what is being learned or accessing Google Classrooms please do not hesitate to get in touch either via Google Classrooms, the teacher's email or by phoning school.
As the children are once again spending a lot of time online it is really important to make sure that they are staying safe. Below are a couple of links to support you with keeping your children safe on the internet; others can be found on our Useful Websites page on the Home Learning tab.
Once again a huge thank you to all our families; we appreciate how tough home learning can be. Please remember we are always just a phone call or an email away.
