BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

We are really looking forward to welcoming you all back to school on Tuesday September 8th 2020. We are going to be doing things differently to ensure that we are keeping the children, staff and families as safe as possible and doing our bit to reduce the spread of Coronavirus in the community.

We will have 8 bubbles: Early Years (Nursery and Reception), Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Nurture Group, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. To reduce the possibility of bubbles mixing, we will continue with staggered drop off and pick up times and the bubbles will remain separate at playtime and lunchtime.

Hand washing

We will continue with additional hand washing; all children will wash their hands on arrival in school, before eating, after playing outside, after going to the toilet, after sneezing or coughing and of course after using the toilet.

Lunchtimes

In order to reduce crowding in the hall at lunchtime only children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 who have a school dinner will eat in the hall. All other classes and children who have a packed lunch will eat in their classrooms. Hot dinners will be delivered to Year 3 and 4 in the mobile, adults will collect lunches for Nurture Group and Year 5 and 6 will go in small groups to collect their lunch from the hall. Additional cleaning is taking place in school throughout the day to ensure that all areas are hygienically clean.

Play times

Play times will be staggered to reduce crowding on the playground. This will mean that children will only have the opportunity to play with children within their bubble.

PE

The big change for children in KS1 and KS2 is that they will do PE one week and dance the next, alternating throughout the term. This is because we would have to clean the hall between classes which is not feasible. Gymnastics will continue as normal as we will have two sets of mats that can be used separately and cleaned after both lessons have finished. All children except for Nursery must bring PE kit.

PE days are as follows:

Nursery: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Reception: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Year 1 and Year 2: Tuesday, Thursday

Year 3 and Year 3: Wednesday

Year 5 and Year 6: Tuesday, Thursday

Nurture Group: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday

School Uniform

Children must attend in school uniform. Unfortunately due to a change in supplier we have had to increase the cost of uniform. For more information about school uniform and our price list follow this link. There may also be a delay in the arrival of new school uniform, this again is due to us having to change supplier and we ask that you are patient whilst this is sorted.

If you want more detailed information please refer to the letter sent with the children's reports or follow this link to read the letter.

We hope you all have a great last couple of weeks of the holidays and look forward to seeing you all back with us on September 8th.
